A couple of warmer days, some pansies to plant, a bit of weeding, and now I really have spring fever! The trees are budding and daffodils are peeking their heads up about to burst into bloom. There are so many birds at the feeder fueling up for building nests and family planning. I'm working on my three final independent studies for my certificate in botanical illustration. These three pieces will be tightly rendered botanical works.
I've been captured lately with seed pods and have been collecting them at Mason Farm (a local nature habitat) and at the NC Botanical Gardens. These small and very purposeful parts of the plant cycle are ornate and highly architectural. While I'm studying these specimens here's a little tit mouse (loosely rendered in pastel) that stopped by to say Hi!
